Just two hours and a quick soak in the washer machine at home will give you a fun bag while learning the basics of felting! Basic knitting skills required, but we’ll show you how to make I Cord (it’s not scary, we promise) $25-35 Thursdays 2-4pm Learn to Knit Week One – Cast on and the Knit stitch. A crash course in the basics, types of yarn, types of needles, styles of knitting. $30 Tuesday 8/6 10:30am-12:00pm Learn to Knit Week Two – Purl Stitch, cast off, ribbing and basic texture. $20 Tuesday 8/13 10:30am-12:00pm Learn to Knit Week Three – Increase, decrease, and basic pattern reading. $20 Tuesday 8/20 10:30am-12:00pm Socks – See what makes a hand kit sock worth it! You must know how to knit, purl, and decrease. Week 1 – Cast on and ribbing. Week 2 – Heel and gusset. Week 3 – Toe and grafting. $45 Thursdays 10:00-11:30am Gifted Mittens – Using bulky yarn, or 2 strands of worsted, whip up these mittens with a twist! Just 90 minutes will have you cranking these out for more holiday gifts than you’ll ever need! You must know how to knit, purl, and decrease, and we will learn a special increase method. Worked flat, no need for double points! $25 Saturdays 10am-12pm Intro to Cables – Learn why it’s all in the prep work, and create a great scarf while you’re at it! Basic knitting skills required. $25 Fridays 10:00-11:30 Fall Into Shawls – Shawls are the next step after scarves, come pick your pattern and see how easy it can be. A great way to learn lace and shaping, as well as how to read a chart! Basic knitting skills required. Please pick out your pattern and yarn before class. $35 Meets for 2 sessions Fridays 2:30-4pm QUICK TECHNIQUES CLASSES - $12, 1 Hour each Saturdays 2-3pm Kitchener Stitch – Let us help you see why “Kitchener” isn’t a dirty word. Pre-class homework required. September 3 Continental Knitting – By holding your yarn in your left hand, you can learn a faster, less stressful way to knit and purl. This is for those who already know how to knit by holding their yarn in the right hand. September 10 Double Pointed Needles – Be fearless working with double points in just one hour! Trust us, it’s not as bad as you think. September 17 PROJECT OF THE MONTH CLUBS – Join us for any or all sessions as we work on a project together! Scarf of the Month – Just 2 skeins of yarn and a row counter will give you a great wavy-ribbed scarf. $5 a week Thursday 12:30-1:30 Sock of the Month – Ready for something different? Come knit some socks with entrelac (mitered squares) on the cuff. Yes, you CAN do it! $5 a week Tuesdays from 3-4pm. Project of the Month – Baby sweater in Blossom. Intermediate knitting skills required. This is a oh-so-cute pattern in a fun yarn, with lace detailing. A great way to learn to read from a chart, or to see how a sweater is shaped! $6 a week. Wednesdays from 11am-12pm. K2TOG Wed. 5-8pm The Irish Ewe will be hosting a Stitch and Bitch on Wednesday nights from 5pm to 8pm. K2TOG Night is free - we provide the coffee and tea, you bring your knitting. You can bring some pot-luck cookies (or anything else chocolate!) or leave something in our cookie fund jar. KID’S KNIT CLUB Saturday 12-2pm September 3 and 17 Join Andrew as the kids take over the back room! Show off your work, see what others are up to, and get a little help too. This is not a class, but Andrew can help with problems. Please bring a snack to share or leave something in the Cookie Fund Jar. Ages 8 and up welcomed. BROWN BAG KNITTERS Tuesday and Friday at noon Bring your lunch and current project as we take over the back room table. Cookies provided via our Cookie Fund Jar, please feel free to leave a little something in the jar if the cookies are any good! DROP IN HELP We offer drop in help anytime! Up to 15 minutes of help without waiting for a classes, just enough to get through that one tough spot! No set cost - please leave a tip in the Cookie Fund Jar. Private Lessons Anything over 15 minutes really needs an appointment. We offer private group and one-person classes for adults and children, just ask for more details. General Class Notes – *Unless otherwise stated, classes include the pattern but not materials. When you sign up for a class, you will be given a materials list, as well as any pre-class work you may need to do. *Deposits must be made to secure your spot. Refunds given in case of cancellation by The Irish Ewe, store credit given should you not be able to make it to your chosen class. *Please call us if the weather is bad before driving!
