Quick, fast, speedy... this cute little hat can be crocheted with a variety of yarn weight and fibers. Shown here in Cascade 220.
Materials -
approx. 150 to 200 yards worsted, heavy worsted, or chunky weight yarn.
US K, 6.50 MM hook
US G, 4 MM hook
Notes -
2-ldc cluster, 3-ldc cluster
Work the same as a normal 2 or 3 dc cluster, except draw the first loop up twice as much as normal.
Top -
In adjustable loop, work *dc, ch1* 11 times. Join wit sl st
Rnd 2 - sl st into next ch1 space, work 2 dc in each ch1 space around. 11 2-dc clusters, 22 dc total
Rnd 3 - sl st into next ch1 space, work 2-ldc, ch1 between each dc around. 20 2-dc clusters, 40 dc total
Rnd 4 - sl st to next space between 2-ldc clusters. ch3, 2 ldc in this space, then work a 3-ldc cluster in space between each 2-ldc cluster around. 20 sets of 3-ldc clusters, 60 dc total
Rnd 5 - sl st to next space between 3-ldc cluster. ch3, 2 ldc in this pace, then work a 3-ldc cluster in space between each 3-ldc cluster around.
Rnd 6 - same as rnd 5
Rnd 7 - with black, same as rnd 5
Rnd 8 - with green, same as rnd 5 but work regular dc rather than long dc for remainder of hat
Rnd 9 - with grey, same as rnd 5
Rnd 10 - with black, same as rnd 5
Rnd 11 - with green, ch1, work 1 sc in space between each dc around
Rnd 12 - change to a G hook, and sc in each sc around
Rnd 13 - as round 12
Rnd 14 - change back to a K hook, and sc in each sc around
Rnd 15 - with grey, *sc, ch2, work 2dc in same sc, sk 2 sc* around
Finish off and weave in ends.
